The Portuguese star was one of the most expensive transfers ever in soccer history, but still, he made his current club earn lots of money.

One of soccer’s most shocking transfers ever was completed on July 10, 2018. After paying €112 million (or $135.5 million) to Real Madrid, Juventus could finally announce Cristiano Ronaldo was signing for them. The Italian Serie A had earned an incredible star that would increase lots of revenues in the league’s finances.

The Portuguese was just knocked-out by Uruguay in the 2018 World Cup in Russia just ten days before, after being one of the best players in the tournament’s group stage. But despite his disappointment, he signed a contract for over €30 million per year, which would equal $36.3 million.

But just like Argentina fired at Barcelona when Lionel Messi’s contract was leaked during the weekend: how much does the club raise with the player? Well, that’s something Cristiano Ronaldo can perfectly put over the table.

Within the first 24 hours from the announcement of his arrival, the club had sold 520,000 shirts with Ronaldo’s name and number printed at the back. That reported the club earnings for over $60 million… yes, in just his first day. That is almost a half of the price they paid to brin the Portuguese star to Turin.
