James Rodríguez knows his days are numbered at Everton. Despite the fact that he is one of the players with the best bill in Europe, Rafa Benítez, new coach of the Liverpool institution, has made it clear from the beginning that he does not have it in his plans for the 2021-22 season, that while he is head of the bench, the Colombian will not have opportunities to play.

It is for this reason that the 30-year-old midfielder and his manager are looking for a new team away from the Premier League. Along these lines, according to the Spanish portal ‘Don Balon’, the cucuteño has had contact with several clubs. Although at the beginning there was talk of the possibility of signing for AC Milan or Seville, in the last few hours it has been AS Roma the team that has gotten into the sticks to take the South American star.

Jose Mourinho, brand new coach of the ‘Loba’, would be the main one interested in signing James. Not only to inject quality into his team, but also to claim a kind of revenge against Real Madrid, the Colombian's ex-club and of which he does not keep the best memories.

James has a contract with the Liverpool club until June 30, 2022. Thus, in Goodison Park they would not hinder James's departure to Serie A. Of course, the former player of Monaco and Porto would not leave for less than 20 million euros. In his short stay at Everton, James Rodríguez has played 26 games in which he has scored six goals and distributed eight assists. The future of the Cúcuta-born midfielder aims to become the "soap opera" of what remains of the transfer market.
