There's concern in Italy about the hospitalization of Daniele De Rossi, a former Boca footballer, who was infected with coronavirus. According to various Italian media, the 2006 world champion in Germany, who had just joined the national team as Roberto Mancini's assistant field, suffered respiratory problems in the last hours and was hospitalized in Spallanzani, Rome.

Lele's contagion occurred last week along with three other members of the Azzurra squad, who had just participated in the triple round of UEFA Qualifiers on the way to the Qatar World Cup in 2022 in the commitments against Northern Ireland (in Parma), Bulgaria (in Sofia) and Lithuania (in Vilnius).

The 37-year-old manifested some breathing problems on Thursday and, at night, he was hospitalized. In principle, the diagnosis would indicate a pneumonia that is also controlled.

A total of eight Italian footballers were infected with COVID-19 in the last week: Matteo Pessina, Leonardo Bonucci, Alessandro Florenzi, Federico Bernardeschi, Marco Verratti, Vincenzo Grifo, Alessio Cragno and Salvatore Sirigu. About 20 members of the Azzurra delegation made up of 80 people contracted the disease.
