Lionel Messi will turn out in the colours of Paris Saint-Germain for next season. The French club has completed an audacious transfer for the 6-time Ballon d'Or winner without paying a penny. Now they have the most expensive player of all-time (Neymar), the second-most expensive player of all-time (Mbappe), and arguably the greatest player of all-time (Lionel Messi) in their squad. We will look at 3 top signs that point to Messi being successful in France.

1. A well-stocked attack: Lionel Messi is a prolific goalscorer and playmaker but he plays better when he has appreciable help in the attack. With a PSG attack boasting Neymar, Mbappe, Icardi, and di Maria, you can be sure of a lot of goals from this team. Crucially, Messi also has experience playing with 3 out of these 4 players already (Mbappe is the only one he hasn't played with) so expect a quick understanding between the front players.

2. A better defence: For all of PSG's spending this summer, only Messi has not been in defence. Mauricio Pochettino's side has acquired Gigi Donnarumma in between the posts, Achraf Hakimi and Sergio Ramos in defence, and Gini Wijnaldum & Danilo Pereira for defensive midfield. This is to plug an obvious hole in the defence of the Parisian side. With a better defence, Messi's goals for PSG can win the titles.

3. Mauricio Pochettino: The Argentine coach was a major factor in Messi's decision to join PSG this summer. Pochettino is a coach that favours swift and expansive football and was at a time rumoured to be the favourite for the Barcelona coach job. A perfect understanding between the two Argentines will see Messi perform well at the Parc des Princes.
