At some point, he made the news around the whole world because of the incredible and exaggerated salary he was going to earn in his new adventure, when he left Zenit for the Chinese side Shanghai SIPG in 2016. His bank account earned, total, 100 million euro, 25 for each year he played in Asia.

For context, if we sum Chicharito Hernández’s and Raúl Jiménez’s wages, the result goes around 10 million euro per year. This madness of a salary has set Hulk for life, and after feeling money does not motivate him anymore, he decided to go back to Europe and compete for big things.

His loved Porto is the club he chose for his return to European soccer. He spent four years at Dragao Stadium and quickly became an idol for Porto fans, winning Portuguese League three times and getting continental success lifting the trophy of UEFA Europa League in 2011, with Radamel Falcao as top scorer.

At the moment, Porto has qualified for UEFA Champions League RO16. Their current moment in Portuguese League is not as good, given they are in third place behind Sporting Lisbon and Benfica. If there has ever been a moment where Porto needed Hulk the most, this is it.
