The goal scored in this Serie A match has officially broken a record of a kind of goal that Lionel Messi has never achieved nor even got close to, despite the GOAT has more than 700 in his career.

Today, December 20th 2020, a record has been set in Europe with a goal. That goal has nothing about superb technique and was not decisive for any final or title race, but still it was incredibly hard to score and you will probably not see something like that in a very long time, because breaking this record would be unreal.

This goal was special because it was the fastest ever in the top 5 European Leagues. AC Milan beat 2-1 Sassuolo and just after kick off, the Rossoneri scored the first thanks to Rafael Leao, when the clock was at only 6 seconds of match. More specifically, 6.2 seconds were enough for the Portuguese.

The previous record in Serie A had been set in 2001 by the Piacenza player Paolo Poggi, after 8 seconds. Zlatan Ibrahimovic was not present today because an injury, but Leao made everybody not miss him. With the victory, Milan stay unbeaten after 13 matches and at top of the table with 31 points, one ahead Inter.

A record like this is something Lionel Messi would never ever dream of, because his fastest goal ever was after 127 seconds, against Chelsea in March 2018 for UEFA Champions League first knockout round. The Argentinian star never found the net before the two minutes mark.
