Gonzalo Higuain's first game at Inter Miami was not the one desired by him or by David Beckham, the club's owner. After a night where everything went wrong, the criticism for the Argentine forward did not stop coming, especially on social networks. Not only did he play horribly, but he fought with rivals after missing a penalty.

Higuain looked for excuses for his lousy debut saying that it was the first match after a long time since they had been stopped due to the Covid pandemic. His fitness is not the best but he is confident that he can once again be the great player he was. He said that he did not come to the MLS to be on the road but that he came to win trophies with Inter Miami.

Regarding the bad attitude he had against his rivals after missing the penalty, he maintained that he could not control his anger after feeling that the opposing players laughed at him. He apologized for his reaction but said he could not tolerate the lack of respect he suffered. Both he and the Philadelphia Union players did not act in a good way and left a sad image to the public.

It is rare to see this type of attitude in Higuain since throughout his career he was recognized more for the goals he scored than for fighting with his rivals. In his last game it was observed that his body did not follow what he wanted to do with his mind and consequently the frustration that he had was seen in the attack against his opponents. Impotence took hold of him.
