He washed dishes in a bar and today Real Madrid and Barcelona want him in their team

Virgil van Dijk is one of the best defenders from the whole world nowadays. The Dutch aged 29 has transformed into the second most defender ever, when signing from Liverpool and leaving Southampton for $85 million. Since then, he played 130 matches, scoring 13 goals and giving six assists.

But the story of van Dijk was not always one of happiness and millions. The player had a tough time when he was a child and had to find the way to live. He was born at Breda and since very young started to work in a kitchen, in which he washed the dishes from a bar to gain some money to take to his house.

But since very young he had the chance to show off and on 2011 he made his debut for FC Groningen. He then played for Celtic FC and finally arrived to Southampton to play at the Premier League. Less than a hundred matches there were enough to convince Liverpool to sign him for a fortune.

Van Dijk is now considered one of the best defenders in the whole world and he has caught the attention of both Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. The Spanish clubs are looking forward to sign him, even though they know his value if very high now. With a contract until June 2023, they are waiting for the player wanting to move out from Liverpool and join them soon.
