He was world champion, he played with Lionel Messi and now he is dedicated to this curious sport

During his more than 20 years at FC Barcelona Lionel Messi had a lot of companions that helped him to be the top legend he is nowadays. There were many that we can mention that once did something for the idol and that encourage his to be the star he transformed into.

One of those companions that helped him to score goals, completing assists and gaining important titles is David Villa. The Spanish attacker played at the Catalan side since July 2010, when he arrived from Valencia C.F. for $40 million, and left on 2013, to Atlético de Madrid for just $3 million.

At the start of 2020, even before the COVID-19 pandemic, Villa decided that it was his moment to say goodbye and retired as a professional soccer player. He was then playing for Vissel Kobe Japan side and since then abandoned the club. But, there is a new hobby that Villa found, and he is now practicing.

The World Champion that is Spain top-scorer of all-time is now a runner and trained as an athlete at the San Silvestre Vallecana race. He ran 10 kilometers in 38:09 minutes, which means that every kilometer he did it in 3:43 minutes, an incredible number. Villa will try to compete a bit more is this new sport, and he already joined a crew of athletes.
