Mexico National Team and Liga MX have had a lot of players in their recent history that were potential superstars but nothing transcended for them after the initial success on their careers. Some of the most remembered ones were the players on the U-17 World Cup that El Tri won in 2005.

Most of the players from that squad were called to be one of the best generations in Mexico’s history, and it was thought that they could also win the senior World Cup, but most of them were forgotten after the final against Brazil.

Although Juan Carlos “More” Mosqueda wasn’t part of that team, his career was similar, as he debuted with a goal with Club América in 2006 and was awarded as the Best rookie of the season that year. He was called to be the successor of Cuauhtémoc Blanco with Las Águilas, but his career never took off.

What happened to “More” Mosqueda?

After three years playing for Club América, Mosqueda played in different teams from Liga MX and Liga de Expansión, until he retired in 2017, after playing for Veracruz on his last year as a professional. He now tours with Club América Legends, a group of former Las Águilas players that plays both on amateur and exhibition matches.
