How many people can say “I have the same price as Lionel Messi”? Not many. There is a soccer player who can claim that… and being just 18 years old. Given the Argentinian is turning 34 in June, he is almost a half of the legend’s age. Despite that, the soccer transfer market has put them at the same level in terms of price.

And you know what? He plays in Barcelona too. He arrived to the club in 2012, and has developed himself as a rising soccer star in La Masía, the club’s academy. He made his debut and quickly started growing his reputation. Nowadays, he is considered one of the future stars in soccer’s world.

Ansu Fati was born on October 31st, 2002 in Guinea-Bissau. He moved to Sevilla with his parents and siblings and started playing in that club’s academy. Later, in 2012, Barcelona brought him onboard to La Masía to develop his skills. He was just nine years old. He signed his first professional contract in 2019 with a reported market value of $30.25 million.

Apart from his first steps in Barcelona, he has become the youngest player ever to score a goal in Spanish senior national team. He has scored four goals in seven games for Barcelona and has netted a goal after four games with the red shirt. Both him and Messi have a market value of €80 million, or $96.8 million, as reported by Transfermarkt.
