Former Manchester City goalkeeper, Joe Hart has completed a move to Scottish top-flight side Celtic in a £1m move from English Premier League side, Tottenham Hotspur. Hart moves to Scotland after spending just 1 season at the White Hart Lane. He played in 10 cup matches for the London side after signing on as a free agent in the summer of 2020.

However, Joe Hart once had the world at his feet. Being the number 1 for the English National team and also number 1 for Manchester City during a hugely successful 2010-2016 season. He holds a joint record for the most Premier League Golden Gloves (4) and has been on the PFA Team of the season twice (09/10 & 11/12). He has featured 75 times for the English National team.

Hart's problems started when Pep Guardiola arrived at the Etihad in 2016 and immediately dropped the shot-stopper due to his poor performances at the then recently concluded Euro 2016 and also a perceived inability to play with the ball at his feet. The Spanish tactician needed a sweeper keeper, which 34-year-old Hart isn't. Hart then completed a season-long loan to Torino before that summer ended. This was only the beginning of his problems.

Hart made a string of high-profile mistakes that led to goals while between the sticks at Torino. The England international was able to keep only 5 clean sheets in 36 Serie A matches for the club. This led the club to decide against making his move permanent. After this followed underwhelming spells at West Ham and Burnley before moving to Tottenham Hotspur last season. The goalkeeper would hope to recapture some form and respect in the Scottish Premier League with Celtic.
