It is quite possible that after Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi says his best friend in Barcelona is Gerard Piqué. The 33-year-old center back he's one of the closest people to the Argentinian idol. Anyway, the defender has taken a decision that could make his colleague feel really upset when he finds out.

Through the Kosmos group, Pique is the owner of FC Andorra, a club that is battling to climb to the top divisions in Spanish football system. It competes in the Segunda División B, third tied of the leagues in the country.

Now, as one of the most authorized people to take such a decision, Piqué has appointed Eder Sarabia as the new coach, replacing Nacho Castro. 40-year-old Sarabia was, until not so long ago, former Barcelona’s coach Quique Setién’s assistant.

Eder Sarabia is the son of Manu Sarabia, a former player who spent 12 years playing for Athletic Bilbao (1976-1988) and was also part of the Spanishnational team that played the Euro 1984 final.

His conflict with Messi

During a match by the end of June 2020 both Sarabia and Lionel Messi had a tough moment. It was at a cooling break in a match, in which the players joined altogether to listen to some advice from the coaching staff. Sarabia was approaching the Argentinian who instead of listening to him just turned around and walked away (video below).
