Apart from Lionel Messi, Barcelona fans have another icon: Gerard Piqué. After turning 34 years old, the center back seems to start thinking about his retirement, which might come in just one or two seasons. Still, despite the Argentinian legend is likely to leave, they will also suffer if Piqué leaves them.

In the last days, possibly due to his birthday, Piqué was featured in many interviews. Among others, he spoke to Spanish streaming star Ibai Llanos. In the chat, the center back stated he suffered a lot playing football until he was 30 years old. After he turned 31 he started to enjoy a bit more his soccer player life.

During the interview, he said he plays soccer in Barcelona because he feels he is representing the club. Also, he was asked if he would consider contending for the President’s role in the club in the future. His answer was that first, he wants to learn about it. He expressed to have learnt both good and bad things from all the presidents he had in Barcelona, Josep María Bartomeu, Sandro Rosell and Joan Laporta.

Apart from his future, he expressed he does not think about retirement yet, but he has a decision completely made up in his mind: whenever the time comes, he will retire wearing Barcelona’s shirt. Playing for another club? No, he stated he would not be motivated to do so, and he only wants to play for his current team.
