Gerard Piqué vs. Real Madrid: the mockery of the defender that made the Spanish club explode

Gerard Piqué has been one of the most emblematic players from FC Barcelona during the last years. The Catalan defender was formed in La Masía and left the club just four years during his whole career, when he went to play for Manchester United and Real Zaragoza.

Being one of the most representative players, Real Madrid fans have always hated Piqué, who is used to mock them after victories or titles. But an unexpected fight arrived in the day in which the defender was turning 34 years old. On Twitter, he posted a clear and short message that said 34, in reference to his birthday.

The TV program La Resistencia, that have a great relationship with him, quoted the tweet and added an image of Real Madrid, that during the last campaign ended as the champion of LaLiga for their 34th time in their history. Piqué then answered that gifts should not be counted as titles, making reference to the supposed help received by referees during the campaign.

At the end of his career, Piqué seems to be convinced to stay at Barça. That is the reason why he accepted the salary reduce that the club imposed him due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the crisis generated. With a contract until June 2024, his last years will be at the club of his life for now.
