From love to hate: Gattuso's contradictions around Hirving Lozano

Napoli lost in their debut to AZ Alkmar and Genaro Gattuso surprised everyone by removing Hirving Lozano from the team when the match was at a disadvantage for his team. Lozano is one of the most powerful weapons of the Napoli team and had just converted 4 goals in 2 two games. It is no coincidence that even though he needed offensive players, Gattuso took Lozano out.

Genaro Gattuso said in the week that Hirving Lozano stayed in Napoli due to the exclusive request that he made to the club's owners. He also filled him with praise for the first Serie A games but said he preferred other forwards over Lozano. There are issues that the Italian coach does not like about the Mexican player and makes them very clear.

Hirving Lozano needs to be at 100% of his athletic capacity to be able to make a difference on the court for Napoli and that is something that Gattuso criticizes today. For the former player of the Italian national team, Lozano is not prepared to play the 90 minutes of the game at the pace that Napoli needs as he gets very tired. Much of AZ's goal was due to a bad setback from Lozano.

Surely Gattuso has removed Lozano because the player was not as effective in attack as the previous games and also because of the error that triggered the rival goal.
