Javier Chicharito Hernandez was born in Guadalajara, Mexico. His father Javier Hernandez was playing football at that time. He joined his hometown club Chivas Guadalajara at the age of nine and played at the youth teams till he earned his first professional contract at the age of 15. He missed out on making the squad for the Mexican winning team of the 2005 FIFA U17 World Cup due to injury. He spent four years at the senior team of Guadalajara before English club Manchester United came calling in 2010.

 

His transfer to Manchester United could have been delayed but because he was named in Mexico squad to the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, the club quickly moved before other clubs will move for him. His career in Europe has seen him play for different clubs including Real Madrid on loan, Bayer Leverkusen in Germany, West Ham United in England and Sevilla in Spain before moving to Los Angeles Galaxy where he currently plays.

 

His salary at Manchester United in 2011 was £80,000 per week ($6.5m per year) a huge fee for a young player coming out of Mexico. His salary when he returned to England with West Ham United was £140,000 (£7.28 million per year) the highest paid player at the club then. He also earned £53,000 per week at Sevilla. He signed at Los Angeles Galaxy in the MLS for a record transfer of $10m and became the league's highest paid player with a salary of $6m

He is reported to have earned a total of £21,840,000 from salaries and bonuses throughout his career and is said to have a total net worth of £29,120,000, a little of which have come from endorsements and investments.

 

How many trophies has he won in his career?

Hernandez has won major trophies in his career, the only clubs he played for and did not win any trophy are Bayer Leverkusen and West Ham United. He has also not won a trophy for Los Angeles Galaxy.
