When Thomas Tuchel took over at Chelsea in January this year, one of the first changes that happened was the demotion of young striker Tammy Abraham who was first choice under Frank Lampard.
Tammy Abraham fell out of favour totally with Tuchel after Chelsea re-signed Romelu Lukaku. He left the club to join former Chelsea boss José Mourinho at Roma for £40m with a buyback clause of £80m which will become active in 2023.
Tammy Abraham is yet to justify Mourinho's faith in him with just two league goals in 11 games and two goals in two games in the UEFA Europa Europa Conference League, a number not so good enough for a striker that cost a club like Roma so much.
Abraham was trusted by Frank Lampard and scored 18 goals in all competitions in his first season and a further 12 goals in his second season. Considering that Chelsea's highest scoring striker Romelu Lukaku has four goals this season, Abraham's numbers compared to Chelsea striker is not poor.
