Manchester United are still trying to recover some of their best forms in history and be one of the most competitive teams in the world. That era was marked by Rio Ferdinand, a historical defender at the club who won six Premier League titles and one Champions League with the Red Devils.

After so much time, MUFC are trying to find someone with similar conditions than Ferdinand. And even a legend is always hard to replace, there is a candidate. Dayot Upamecano, French defender aged 22 is intended to be one of the greatest in the future and profs his talent during the last season.

He was once on the radar of Manchester United and head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recognized that as he is a top player it is logical that he is linked to the club. Upamecano has a reported value of €60 million actually and plays for RB Leipzig, that bought him for €10 million to RB Salzburg on January 2017.

On Week 2 of Champions League group stage, Manchester United will be facing Leipzig and Upamecano will be playing at Old Trafford for his first time, in a game in which he must show up to the club of his future. During the last transfer window, Manchester United wasted more than $85 million in players as Donny van de Beek, Amad Diallo, Alex Telles, Facundo Pellistri and Edinson Cavani (free).
