Norwegian soccer star Erling Haaland is absent from the Norwegian squad in the FIFA October international window for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 UEFA qualifying series and has remained at his German club Borussia Dortmund.

Haaland is reported to be suffering from a muscle injury that has kept him out of Borussia Dortmund's last three games but Norway was confident he would make it for the games against Turkey and Montenegro but he could not because he is still carrying his injury.

Erling Haaland made an announcement of his unavailability via his social networks just when he was expected to travel to the national team camp. "Hi folks, sorry for not getting ready for the national matches. Had enjoyed myself. Anyway, good luck to Norway.” he wrote on Twitter.

Haaland has been having a very good goalscoring spell at Borussia Dortmund since joining in 2020. He has scored more goals than games, 68 goals in 67 games. He is one of the best strikers in the league. He is one of the 30 players shortlisted for the 2021 Ballon d'Or.
