Norwegian striker Erling Haaland's goal record at Borussia Dortmund is worth the club wanting him to put pen to paper to stay for one more year. When he was signed by the German club from RB Salzburg in January 2020, his release clause was set at £68m and will only be active from June 30, 2022.

Chelsea tempted the club with a mouthwatering offer of £130m but the club was not willing to sell and the London club went for Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan instead. He is gradually approaching the time his release clause of £68m will become active and the club won't have a choice than to sell but they're hoping to keep him for one more year.

Erling Haaland earns a reported salary of £141,000 per week and the Black and Yellow are willing to double his wages to have him stay at the club for one more season until the summer of 2023. This is according to multiple reports coming out of Norwegian and German media.

It is very unlikely that Chelsea will return with any further offer for Haaland but he surely has suitors in Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain. Dortmund would be hoping that the goal machine agrees with the contract.
