Erling Haaland joined Borussia Dortmund in January 2020 from Red Bull Salzburg in Austria. He has matured to be one of the best strikers in the world within that time, rivalling the world best players in numbers but in terms of team successes he is far behind because of the club he plays for.

He is a very hot prospect that is attractive to top European clubs who will enter a bidding war for him. Chelsea had an unsuccessful attempt to sign him before the beginning of the season for £130m but talks collapsed reportedly due to his agent Mino Raiola's wage demands for the 21 year old striker.

His release clause of £68m will become active at the end of the season, which means he will be available for far less than what Chelsea were willing to offer, which also implies that he will most likely leave the club at the end of the season. Dortmund are trying to keep him longer with a contract offer.

Haaland should reject all forms of offers from the club and head for the exit if he wants to achieve success at club level and be reckoned with. He should learn from an example like Harry Kane who is stuck at Tottenham and is yet to win a senior club trophy.
