The New York police seized 50 kilograms of cocaine that had the stamp CR7 inscribed, the nickname and brand of Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo, the city prosecutor's office reported. The drug bales were seized in an operation carried out on March 29, in which two people were arrested and a weapon and $ 200,000 in cash were also confiscated, according to a statement from the Narcotics Office of the New York Prosecutor's Office.

The alleged traffickers, identified as Christopher Jones and Wykim Williams, kept the money and cocaine in a luxury apartment located in a residential complex in the Jamaica neighborhood, in the borough of Queens.

"In the apartment 50 intact packages of cocaine with the stamp 'CR7' were found, which were in a closet. CR7 is the alias of the popular Portuguese soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo" says the statement, which points out that the house was also located material used for the distribution of narcotics on a large scale, such as a scale, money counting machines or vacuum sealing bags.

According to Special Narcotics Counsel Bridget Brennan, the cocaine stash had a market value of two million dollars. It is not the first time that security forces have seized packages of cocaine printed with the first name of the Juventus footballer. On November 26, the Nicaraguan Army Naval Force reported that it had intercepted eight packages containing 340 packages of cocaine, mostly marked with the initials and the number "CR7", in the Pacific Northwest.

The drug was seized this Wednesday in the Cosigüina Peninsula sector, Chinandega department, in northwestern Nicaragua, according to the report from the Pacific Naval District.
