Manchester United has released much-awaited first pictures of Cristiano Ronaldo in the new Manchester United jersey for the 2021-22 season. The Red Devils gave the fans a glimpse of what the 5-time Ballon d'Or winner looks like in a United jersey again. United completed the re-signing of Ronaldo for a fee of £13m from Italian giants Juventus with add-ons of up to £8m.

Ronaldo spent 12 years away from Old Trafford, first at Real Madrid between 2009 and 2018, and then at Juventus between 2018 and 2021. With just 1 year left on his contract with the Bianconeri, the Portugal captain chose to seek other challenges, rejoining the club where he made a name for himself.
The Portuguese international is yet to be allotted a shirt number within the United squad for the year. Ronaldo's preferred No 7 shirt is currently occupied by Uruguayan striker, Edinson Cavani.

However, the sale of Daniel James on transfer deadline day to Leeds United could change things in Ronaldo's favour. If Cavani agrees to vacate the No 7 jersey and take up the vacant No 21 left by Dan James, then Cristiano Ronaldo would be free to now take on the now vacant No 7 jersey that he favours so much.
The prolific forward was added to further improve an already bustling attack line housing Marcus Rashford, Edinson Cavani, Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial and Jadon Sancho. However, his sharp-shooting skills and leadership qualities would add a refined edge to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team.
Having played most of his career as a left-winger or as a centre forward, you'd expect Cristiano Ronaldo to play in these positions for United. Upfront, he could replace the profligacy of Anthony Martial. Whilst in the absence of Marcus Rashford due to shoulder surgery, Ronaldo would be at home on the left, cutting in and shooting at goal with his preferred right foot.
Ronaldo is expected to make his second debut for United as soon as Premier League football starts after the international break. The Red Devils will face Newcastle FC on the 11th of September at Old Trafford.

The home game would be a good place to present the returning golden boy to a raucous crowd of home fans. Especially because United's next 2 games are away against Young Boys (UEFA Champions League) and West Ham (EPL)
