Juventus is reportedly planning a major overhaul this summer and, at the moment, Cristiano Ronaldo is not a concrete part of those plans. The Italian giants are already beginning to draw up elaborate plans for their squad following their shameful exit from the Champions League at the hands of Porto. This, added to the fact that is 10 points behind Inter, the first in Serie A, forces the leadership of the Vecchia Signora to think about changes in the future, to recover his image in the foreground.

Juventus trailed 2-1 since the first leg at the Estadio do Dragao, but was ultimately defeated by away goals (4-4 on aggregate) after one of the best qualifiers in recent history. Federico Chiesa scored two goals after Sergio Oliveira's first goal in Turin, but the Portuguese midfielder scored an impressive low free kick in extra time to ruin Juve's European dream. Adrien Rabiot threw one back immediately, but Andrea Pirlo couldn't do enough to cross the line as Porto reached the quarter-finals.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the former Italian midfielder has already decided that he would like to remain in command next season. Juve reportedly wants to build their squad around four names, with Ronaldo being off the untouchable list. "Juventus are planning to rebuild the team," Romano tweeted. "Weston McKennie, Chiesa, Matthijs de Ligt, and Wojciech Szczesny will be part of the project. "There will be a discussion with Cristiano Ronaldo about his future, cause his contract expires in 2022. Aaron Ramsey could leave the club. Pirlo has already announced that he will stay", confessed.

Since their lucrative £ 88.3 million trade from Real Madrid in 2018, Juventus have crashed out of the Champions League against Ajax, Lyon and now Porto, respectively. All of those draws were originally considered favorable draws, but now Pirlo´s team appear to have regressed. Director Fabio Paratici admitted that Ronaldo's future is not the priority, when asked about the Portuguese's future.

He said: “There is still another year of contract. The renewal of Cristiano's contract is not an immediate issue on the schedule, there is time to talk about it", assured. The former Manchester United striker was widely criticized as a result of the defeat, for his participation in the wall that could not block Oliveira's free kick. Ronaldo turned his back on the goal that slipped past Szczesny after passing under the wall, in a play that could mark his history as a footballer.
