When he was a teenager, the Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and Portugal star had a scary moment with a motorcycle where he was close to have a fatal accident.

Fortunately, Cristiano Ronaldo grew up to be one of the best soccer players of all time, breaking all kinds of records and going into an individual rivalry with Lionel Messi that is one of the most attractive in sports history. But something tragic could have prevented all this to have happened.

When he was 15 years old and played for Sporting Lisbon youth academy, the young Cristiano had Leonel Pontes as a tutor. And Pontes told the story of the time when the rising star went crazy with a motorcycle and got close to a serious accident that could have costed his life.

The tutor suggested Cristiano to have a ride on his motorcycle, and when he asked him if he knew how to ride it, Ronaldo said he knew. Then without a helmet, he speeded up, made a wheelie and disappeared in a curve. Pontes got stressed until he came back with a happy face, because if he was that irresponsible, he could have easily had a serious accident.

But luckily for everybody, nothing bad happened and the little Cristiano became who he is now. He owns motorcycles, but his contracts forbid him of doing risky activities that could damage him physically because his whole body is his working tool. He cannot even post pictures on one of them.
