He won his first Ballon d'Or with the Club in 2098 before leaving for Madrid and he won the club It's last Champions League. He was given the Jersey number 7 which has been worn by Cavani on his return and giving him the captain band won't be a bad idea. The Current captain, Harry Maguire, has not achieved anything with the club and if the captain band is to be stripped off him, Cristiano Ronaldo is worth the reason.
