Cristiano Ronaldo made no mistake twice from the penalty spot as he condemned Luxembourg and made them his biggest victim with eight goals scored against. Ronaldo certainly is Portugal's best player and is leading them in their charge for qualification for the World Cup.

He has scored five goals in five games in the qualifier games for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, but how many of the goals are penalties? Ronaldo's two penalties tonight were his first penalty goals of the World Cup qualifier matches. The other three goals were from open plays.

Ronaldo has scored 114 international goals, but it would surprise you to know he has only scored 16 penalties, which means 99 of the goals were from open play, much for a player who many football fans accuse of scoring tap-ins and penalties. The World Cup in Qatar could be his last for Portugal.

He is set to play in his fifth FIFA World Cup, same as his rival Lionel Messi and it could be the last for the two of the all time greatest players. The two players first appeared in the 2006 World Cup in Germany. Lionel Messi is the better of the two having played the final against Germany in 2014.
