Cristiano Ronaldo is playing his 181st international match for his country Portugal in the friendly match against Qatar, the hosts of the 2022 FIFA World Cup and he could have the chance to extend his record of most international teams scored against.

Last month Cristiano Ronaldo broke Iranian legend Ali Daei's record of most international goals scored by a men player. Ali Daei scored 109 goals and Cristiano Ronaldo has now scored 111 goals in 180 games, while Lionel Messi has scored 79 international goals, the most international goals by a South American.

He has also scored against 44 countries in his career while Lionel Messi has scored against 28 countries. Ronaldo will extend his record if he scores today against Qatar to take his tally to 112 or more and against 45 countries.

The two have enjoyed a very competitive rivalry in the last 15 years since breaking onto the scene and are arguably the two best ever footballers. They have written themselves into many history books. Lionel Messi has six Ballon d'Or and Cristiano Ronaldo has five Ballon d'Or.
