This has been a day with ups and downs for Cristiano Ronaldo. The good thing for him is that he won an important award that not even Lionel Messi will ever win. The bad thing, is that he is breaking a national law related with quarantine, something not allowed to regular citizens.

The Juventus star went to Dubai where he was given the Player of the Century 2001-2020 Globe Soccer Award. When he comes back to Italy to play for his current club, he will not have to quarantine like everybody. There is a rule in Italy saying that people coming back to the country between December 21st and January 6th will have to quarantine, but that does not apply to CR7.

Ronaldo will not follow that rule. He will have to make contact only with his teammates and take many PCR tests in the next days. If he tests negative for COVID-19, Andrea Pirlo can count on him. The next match for Juventus will be next Sunday, at home versus Udinese for Serie A.

Cristiano Ronaldo has contracted COVID-19 before, at the end of last October. For that reason, he missed many Serie A games and the match against FC Barcelona for the UEFA Champions League group stage, where his team lost 2-0 at Juventus Stadium. His isolation lasted 19 days.
