Cristiano Ronaldo has been one of the best players through the last years and has always showed interest to win every single competition, game and award that he fights for. This year he was nominee aside Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski by FIFA to gain The Best, award given to the best player of the year.
The ceremony was virtually this time, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and CR7 suffered it in his house. After expecting winning the prize, Cristiano lost against Lewandowski, chosen winner. The Polish attacker was recognized once again due to his tremendous season, in which he scored 55 goals and gave 10 assists in 47 matches played.
With his arms folded, the Portuguese looked to the monitor, when it was unveiled that Lewandowski was the winner. Aside, Messi outlined a small smile and the winner clearly show his happiness for winning such an award for the first time ever at his 32 years old.
Lewandowski helped Bayern Munich win the Champions League title, which the German club was fighting for since a long time. He is playing for this team since he left Borussia Dortmund on July 2014 as a free agent and has scored 264 goals in 306 games for Bayern so far. Cristiano was not happy to know that he was not the winner but, as many considered, it was fair for Lewandowski to win it after such a season.
