One of sport’s biggest moments in 2021 will be for sure the Conor McGregor’s fight against Dustin Poirier. Or better said, the amazing knockout by Dustin Poirier to Conor McGregor. The Irish fighter arrived as the candidate, but fate turned against him, and the American won the combat in incredible way. Still, McGregor will earn lots of money.

Ahead of UFC 257, the combat evening that included McGregor – Poirier as the stellar fight, it was already known that The Notorius would be paid $5 million just to jump into the ring, no matter which would have been the outcome. On the other end, the later-winner Poirier was paid $1 million. Want to compare them to Cristiano Ronaldo?

Apart from this, the PPV proved to be, once again, the biggest income for UFC fighters. ESPN has reported a minimum of 1.6 million subscribers who paid to watch the combat on Saturday evening, or Sunday early morning in Abu Dhabi. From there, both McGregor and Poirier earnt lots of money too.

Conor McGregor was reportedly paid an extra $19.5 million from the PPV revenue, which takes his income to $24.5 million on Saturday. As his counterpart, Cristiano Ronaldo’s salary with Juventus is $37.7 million, so he’d need 233 days out of 365 to represent that amount of money. In a year like 2021, it’s August 21 counting from New Year’s Eve.
