Romelu Lukaku is on the verge of completing a return to Stamford Bridge with Chelsea. The burly striker is expected to undertake his medicals soon as part of the requirements for his move from the Italian side, Inter Milan. Chelsea has reportedly agreed to a £95m deal to sign the striker from the Serie A Champions.
Chelsea is expected to offer the striker a significant improvement on his current £200,000 a week deal at Inter Milan. The London-based club will prepare a weekly wage packet in the region of £250,000 - £270,000 for the striker. This will automatically make Lukaku one of the highest earners at Chelsea.
The current top 5 earners in Thomas Tuchel's side are French midfielder Nholo Kante (£290,000), German forward Timo Werner (£272,000), English left-back Ben Chilwell (£190,000), second-choice goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga (£155,000) and Croatian midfielder (£150,000). Kai Havertz, Cesar Azpilicueta, and Christian Pulisic are all joint-fifth on £150,000 each.
With the salary expectation of Romelu Lukaku, the Belgian striker will move into 3rd or 2nd on the highest-earners list at Chelsea. It is not expected that Chelsea will offer Lukaku up to the £290,000 they pay World Cup winner, Ngolo Kante.
