
Chelsea right-back Reece James had an unfortunate episode on Tuesday night while was playing at Stamford Bridge against Zenit St. Petersburg. Five robbers entered at his home in London, while the player was playing the Champions League match, to steal his belongings unopposed.
The English player published on his Instagram account the video of the cameras in his house denouncing what happened. The five people who entered to his house stole his medals obtained with their club and national team: "I never keep any of my jewels in my house, so all that was in the safe was my Champions League champion medal and the Super Cup winner medal and Euro 2020 runner-up medal", says the winger.
"The police, my advisers and Chelsea FC (and many others) are behind me as we have firm clues as to who the perpetrators are. We are getting closer to them. Fortunately, no one was present during the robbery, but I want everyone to Please know that I am safe and sound. I really appreciate having the platform to tell you all about my misfortune and I hope that together we can catch these people and do justice where it is due".
Reece James came out of the Chelsea youth squad, and only made it to the first team in 2018. However, he had to wait a season to play his first game as a professional footballer. Since then, he has played a total of 88 games, including national and international competitions, in which he scored 4 goals.
Reece James knows what it's like to be a champion. He is his inferiors with Chelsea, he won 4 titles, 2 of the FA Cup, and 2 Premier League under 18. In addition, he won the UEFA European Under 19, with the England team. At a higher level, and again with the Blues, he won the Champions League and the European Super Cup.
