Carlos Vela quitted Mexico national team after the defeat against Brazil on World Cup Russia 2018 round of 16. The Mexican idol decided not to go back and fans reproached him that decision, even though he didn’t change it. After some months working on it, it seems to be that head coach Gerardo Martino has found the way to replace him.

Mexico has great attackers in an excellent moment right now. Raúl Jiménez, Jesús Tecatito Corona and Hirving Lozano will be the forwards playing during the next FIFA international break. Those three could be the greatest way in which Martino can make fans forget the talent that the team is losing without Vela.

The attacking trio is the most expensive one in America, just after Argentina and Brazil national teams. Jiménez is worth $47 million, Corona $35 million and Lozano $38 million making a total of $121 million. Just Argentina, with Lionel Messi and companion, and Brazil, with Neymar and his compatriots, make it better.

After 72 matches played with the national team, it seems that Vela won’t be going back. At the end it was a prolific career in which he scored 19 goals. He is now comfortably installed at Los Angeles, where he lives with his family and plays for LAFC being the best paid Mexican player on the MLS.
