A few days ago, we spoke about Canelo Álvarez and Cristiano Ronaldo having something in common: their love for sport supercars. We previously knew, obviously, that both are among the best ones in their activities. But now we’ve found another coincidence between the Mexican boxer and the Portuguese soccer icon.

They are very well known for how good they do in action, whether it is up on the ring or with a ball in his feet. But then, they both have shown another facet. And it’s really heartwarming to speak about it: helping somebody who needs a hand. Cristiano Ronaldo did it in the past, and Canelo Álvarez is doing so in these days.

David Antolín is a 17-year-old young warrior who suffers from cystic fibrosis for which he requires a lung transplant. To help him raise funds, Álvarez has visited him and promised to help him. But at the same time, he spoke out to alert of these kind of diseases. For that, he posted a five-minute video on social media.

What does Cristiano Ronaldo have to do in this? He also helped somebody who desperately needed him. It’s Sheffield Wednesday’ Jose Semedo, who played with Ronaldo in Sporting Lisboa. The club wanted to release Semedo from his contract, he’d have had to go back to a life of struggles in his tough town Setubal.

Cristiano threatened the board to leave with him and asked to put another bed in his bedroom for him, and shared the closet with him. Semedo would eventually stay in the club. He later told The Times: “I owe my everything to Cristiano. He changed my career”.
