Two of the biggest world’s exponents in sports are face to face, not in a field or a ring, but in terms of prizes. Cristiano Ronaldo and Saúl Canelo Álvarez are extraordinary skilled in what they do, and that is why they earn incredible prizes. But how big is the difference between them in that aspect? We will find out.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been the leader of Real Madrid’s new generation who cancelled a big debt: the UEFA Champions League. The White House had won it back in 2000 and 2002, then losing and winning the Intercontinental Cup against Argentina’s Boca Juniors and Paraguay’s Olimpia respectively. But they could never do it again until the Portuguese arrived.

Real Madrid was desperate to win their tenth UEFA Champions League, and they achieved so once Cristiano Ronaldo arrived in 2010. After lifting the precious trophy in 2013-14 season, they repeated in three consecutive years, 2015-2016, 2016-2017 and 2017-2018. Of course, they also won the four FIFA Club World Cups against San Lorenzo (Argentina), Kashima Antlers (Japan), Gremio (Brazil) and Al Ain (United Arab Emirates) respectively.

In 2014 Cristiano Ronaldo decided to donate $1.2 million he was paid by the club as a bonus prize for winning the UEFA Champions League, as reported then by English newspaper Mirror. Now it’s time to do some math involving Canelo Álvarez. The Mexican fighter will be paid $30 million for his combat against his Turkish opponen Avni Yildirim. That equals 25 Champions Leagues won by the Portuguese legend.
