Real Madrid is finalising plans to put in a big bid for French forward, Kylian Mbappe. Lionel Messi's departure from Barcelona to PSG might inadvertently open the doors for Mbappe's move to the Spanish capital. The 21-year-old forward has made public his dream to play at the Santiago Bernabeu and those dreams might come true soon.

Former Real Madrid player, Cristiano Ronaldo is the stated idol to Mbappe and the French international would look to replicate Ronaldo's lofty achievements in Spain. The Los Blancos would also hope Mbappe can as they have been unlucky in replacing the Portuguese' goals and impact at the club. There are abundant reasons to believe that Mbappe is the player to replace Ronaldo at Madrid.

First, Mbappe plays a very similar style to Cristiano Ronaldo. Just like his idol, Mbappe's searing pace and unerring accuracy in front of the goal means Mbappe will score lots of goals at the Bernabeu. Much of Ronaldo's legend at Madrid was made on his goals and with Madrid screaming out for a goalscorer, you can expect Mbappe to live up to the billing.

Secondly, the supporting cast that helped Ronaldo to achieve lofty feats in the Spanish capital is still available. The midfield trio of Kroos, Modric and Casemiro even though older can still band together for a last hurray. As long as Mbappe and Benzema can work out any animosity carried over from the French National team, then Mbappe has one of the best striking partners in the world. Isco, Asensio and Gareth Bale are all still available too. This Madrid team only needs a Ronaldo or a player like him.

Lastly, Madrid has got back the coach who won them the revered La Decima. Carlo Ancelotti is one of the best man-managers in world football. The Italian was able to cater to the ego of Cristiano Ronaldo and with Kylian Mbappe built in the same ilk as his idol, Ancelotti's skills are going to be very important in bringing the best out of Mbappe.

Overall, it is expected that Mbappe would flourish at Santiago Bernabeu. With many years ahead of him and so much experience behind him, Mbappe might outperform Cristiano Ronaldo with the Los Blancos.
