Many professional soccer players earn fortunes during their careers, but are not capacitated to survive after retirement. As they dedicate their lives to soccer, they are not able to integrate to a new world when they are 30 or 40 years old and have to start a new career.

One of those cases is the one from Cafú, the Brazilian legend who won two World Cups, was a complete legend at his country and is now going through a very bad economic situation.

The wright defender earned $4 million per season in his greatest moment at Europe, but after retirement things went bad for him, and he faced some judicial problems. Bad businesses took him to debt money and lose many properties that he had, according to the Brazilian press that recently revealed his story.

Cafú started playing at Sao Paulo and in his country also passed through Juventude and Palmeiras. In Europe, he played for AS Roma, AC Milan, Real Zaragoza and Garforth Town. After earning millions in transfers, contracts and sponsorships, it is said that now he has less than $1 million in his bank account.
