Bruno Fernandes arrived just nine months ago to Manchester United, when the English club decided to pay more than $50 million to Sporting CP for his transfer. But, despite the little amount of time spent with the team and the COVID-19 pandemic that freeze everything and interrupted the season, Fernandes will be the Red Devils captain.

Without the player knowing, head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer announced in his press conference the decision of making the offensive midfielder his new captain, heading the team clash against Paris Saint-Germain on Champions League start. Solskjaer talked about the impact that the arrival of Bruno had in the team.

After just 27 games played, Fernandes scored 15 goals and gave 11 assists for Manchester United. The 26 years old has just played less for Novara Calcio 1908 (23 matches) and played more for Sporting (137) and Sampdoria (35).

Manchester United recently defeated Newcastle 4-1 on the Premier League, in their first game after an incredible loss 6-1 against Tottenham before the international break. Now, they will make their debut at the UCL in Paris on Tuesday night and afterwards they will face Chelsea next Saturday.
