Dani Alves is being linked with a spell in the Mexican league after the Brazilian quit his hometown club Sao Paulo after making it public the club owed him €3m in unpaid wages since he joined the club in 2019.

According to information from Mexican journalist, Alvaro Cruz Santibanez, the 38year old Brazilian international was offered to top Mexican clubs including CONCACAF Champions League winner, Tigres UANL and this year's finalist Club America and Monterrey.

At 38, Dani Alves should be considering retirement but because he has a goal of representing Brazil in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and wants to stay fit so he could earn a callup under coach Title, he wants to join a club to fulfill that ambition.

He had turned down offers from Brazilian club Flamengo who recently signed fellow Brazil defender David Luiz after his contract expired with Arsenal in the Premier League and has his sights set on a club in the MLS or Liga MX.

Alves has played for top European clubs including Sevilla, Barcelona, Juventus, PSG before joining Sao Paulo in 2019. He is the footballer with the highest number of trophies won with 43 and with his experience would be a good fit for the Liga MX.
