Manchester City, with Sergio Agüero among the substitutes, today became champion of the League Cup of England for the fourth time in a row after defeating Tottenham 1-0 in the final at Wembley Stadium in London, which was attended by eight thousand spectators. City's winning goal was scored by defender Aymeric Laporte in the 37th minute of the second.

The legendary Wembley Stadium in London received the public again after more than a year and eight thousand spectators witnessed a new conquest of the City. Giovani Lo Celso started at Tottenham (he was replaced in the 22nd minute of the second half) and Erik Lamela was on the substitute bench

The Kun returned to the squad after four games absent due to injury but did not have minutes in the team led by the Spanish Josep "Pep" Guardiola, who won his 30th title as coach and the ninth in the English team. Agüero was in the last six conquests of the Manchester City League Cup and two months after his farewell he won his fourteenth title at the club.

Manchester City achieved its fourth consecutive League Cup and with eight it reached Liverpool in the top of the top winners. City will play the first leg of the European Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint Germain in France on Wednesday and are also close to conquering the English Premier League.

In the absence of five dates, the Citizen team is leading with 77 points and takes ten to Manchester United. Tottenham, which in the week had been left without the Portuguese José Mourinho, could not cut the hegemony of Manchester City in the League Cup and was left without the possibility of lifting its fifth title (the last in the 2007/08 season).
