The chance of reuniting two players who were top stars at his days in a Serie B Italian side was only possible due to the power that the president of that club has. Both Mario Balotelli and Kevin-Prince Boateng agreed to sign a contract with AC Monza, trying to help the team to return to the Serie A.

The link between both players and the club is their relationship with Silvio Berlusconi, the Politian and businessman aged 84 years old, who bought the club on September 2018 and has been the owner since then. The players get to know him as they played for AC Milan and form a good relationship with him.

Berlusconi was since 1986 to 2017 the owner of Milan and has been the president and the honorific president in several periods. His figure is both praised and criticized at Italy, as he has many scandals linked to irregular situations both financial and personal. This is the reason why Balotelli and Boateng are both being pointed out now as well.

Balotelli signed with Monza until June 2021, as his last club was Brescia, where he played from August 2019 until July 2020. During his career he played for many important sides, as Inter, Liverpool, Milan, Manchester City and Olympique Marseille. K.P. Boateng arrived from Fiorentina and has also made a surprising career, playing at FC Barcelona, Milan, Besiktas and more.
