Four suspects have been arrested in the framework of an investigation into the wave of robberies in the homes of Paris Saint Germain players. The detainees would have been part of the assaults on the homes of Brazilian defender Marquinhos and Argentine attacker Ángel Di María, according to a French police source on Tuesday.

The source, who didn't want to be named because he doesn't have permission to discuss the matter publicly, told Reuters that four men between the ages of 18 and 29 were arrested this morning and that their houses were being searched by police.

The Brigade for the Repression of Banditry (BRR) had launched an investigation to determine whether the two cases, which occurred on the same day some ten kilometers apart, were related to each other. The arrests could provide more certainty in this regard.

Marquinhos, who had already been robbed in January 2020, and Di María, were the last victims of this evil that generated much concern in the Parisian entity. Their homes were raided during the Paris Saint-Germain game in the Parc des Princes against Nantes, a duel corresponding to Date 29 of Ligue 1 that was played on March 14.

In the second robbery of Marquinhos, his 52-year-old father was attacked and held hostage by the assailants. He was the player's two sisters, ages 14 and 16. In the case of Di María's family, who had to be replaced in the middle of the game against Nantes due to this violent robbery at his house, they were present at the home but did not face the intruders.
