One of the maximum references of the Mexican national team, but also one of the most veteran, would be about to arrive from Spain to the MLS, a soccer league highly sought by Mexicans and players from all around de world that seek to give a second wind to their career. The Real Betis left-footed midfielder Andrés Guardado is in the crosshairs of one of the MLS 'new expansion teams, The Charlotte FC, which continues to form the roster ahead of his league debut for the 2022 season.

According to local media, the Mexican interests a lot to the club's managers, who see Guardado as a great reference in the international football. It is expected that the negotiations can be carried out in the next few months, there is still nothing concrete but if this transfer is given, Guardado would arrive to the MLS with 35 years old. Maybe to live his last moments as a player for the Mexican national team, and also as a pro.

Guardado arrived at Real Betis in the 2017 season, he has so far 118 games played, including those from the 2020-21 season. The Mexican has generated a lot of interest in other MLS teams, however the good level he still has and the quality of the Spanish league, have still been a factor for the Mexican to decide to stay in European football.

For a long time, Andres Guardado has been fundamental in the Mexican national team, as he has 164 international matches with 28 goals scored since he made his debut in 2005. He has an impressive path with the national team, participating in four World Cups, four Gold Cups of the Concacaf, two Copas America and two Confederations Cups.
