Andrés Guardado is one of the Mexican soccer players who has played in Europe for the longest period of time. His career has been very successful in the European continent and his personal life, although quite private, has also been full of happy moments.

The current Real Betis player had a first marriage that ended in 2011, and later met Sandra de la Vega, a beautiful woman from Guadalajara who stands out for her beautiful eyes.

Who is Sandra de la Vega?

Sandra de la Vega is president of the Andrés Guardado Foundation, which raises funds for social assistance centers and institutions to be able to continue operating.

De la Vega accompanied the former Atlas captain on his adventure in Europe and after going through complicated moments as a couple, they were able to overcome them and are a solid marriage.

She is a young mom who inevitably travels in the same direction as Andrés Guardado, star player for the Mexican national soccer team and Spanish club Real Betis.

Andres Guardado and Sandra de la Vega have two children, Maximo and Catalina, the latter was born in September 2019.

Sandra De la Vega nearly died when she gave birth to her son Máximo

Sandra de la Vega gave an interview to Marca where she spoke about the difficulties she experienced when she was giving birth to her son Máximo.

"It is very difficult to understand, the best thing in the world happened to me when I had my son and at the same time it is the worst thing because I was about to die, so there is no balance between the best and the worst; that's when you begin to understand many things and that thanks to God I am here and my son is well".

"I was very scared because twice I lost blood, twice I was about to die, I said, the third time is the charm, if it happens to me again I will not get away with it and a friend of my parents told me- better ask yourself what your mission in life is, if God left you here it is for something. That's when I told Andres, I think I need to do something for others," he says.

From that experience she became involved in the Andrés Guardado Foundation

That something became a responsibility to help, so she took the lead of the Andrés Guardado Foundation, with which she seeks to consolidate her support for young people in shelters in Guadalajara.

"We realized that in the shelters when the children leave at the age of 18, they don't know what to do, where to go, they don't know how to do many other things apart from what they may have studied until a certain level of school or so, so we want them to leave knowing how to do something so they can start working, they can continue playing sports, they can continue studying, we are also getting them scholarships in different universities", commented Sandra about the work that the Foundation does in favor of the youngsters.

"Andres has been an unconditional support. He is a great dad"

Sandra knows that nothing would be possible without her traveling partner, to whom she acknowledges his work as a husband and father.

"Andres has been an unconditional support, when I was sick. Because after all I got anemia and I was tired, super weak and he is a super good dad, he always helped me with Maximo, he was always looking out for me; unfortunately when this happens to me he has to go to the national team and he leaves a little nervous, a little scared".

I saw him calm, but after I talked to him he told me: "Of course not! I was just as nervous or worse than you but I couldn't make you feel it, I had to make you feel that everything was fine and I had to give you that strength. He was a great help to me and thanks to him I was able to get ahead".

Guardado’s words to his wife

"What I admire about Sandra as a woman and as a mother is her ability to adapt as she has to be, she is not peculiar, but let's say that she has had to live through things and she has been able to adapt and face them in the best way. Maybe at another time she would have faced difficult situations in a different way. But she has been able to overcome, to adapt to all the difficult situations. I think it is a little bit like being a mom to face the unknown when you are a first-time mom and to know how to react in every moment. That's what I admire most about her”.
