Sporting Kansas City agonizingly won their match against the San Jose Earthquakes for the MLS payoffs and its great news for Alan Pulido. The Mexican attacking midfielder could not play due to an injury and luckily for him he will be able to retire from Sporting Kansas City on a soccer field since it is very likely that he will continue his career in Europe.

Alan Pulido was left out of the last list of the Mexican team and Gerardo Martino no longer considers him among the 23 players that make up the Mexican squad. For that very reason, Alan Pulido would seek to leave Sporting Kansas City and MLS to play in a more competitive league and thus show Martino that he has enough level to be in the Mexican national team.

Gerardo Martino has already declared that the priority is for players who are in Europe or in Liga MX but there are other cases that being in MLS has earned a position. The departure of Pulido to Europe would be very important in his desire to be in the Qatar 2022 World Cup. As already happened in the last transfer market, Villareal would be the team that would be interested in Pulido.

Alan Pulido comes from being chosen as the best player on his team in the regular season and was one of the best players in MLS. Unfortunately he could not be against the San Jose Earthquakes for the playoffs but thanks to the victory he can continue dreaming of winning the MLS. The next few weeks will be the key for the future of Alan Pulido and his ambitions to be in the next World Cup with the Mexico team.
