Edson Alvarez is doing fine at Ajax at the moment, but there has been some interest from Valencia for him. The reports are saying that the former player of Club America wants to prove himself in a more competitive league and make sure he will not lose his spot in Mexico starting eleven.

With all the speculation, the Ajax manager Erik ten Hag was asked by Fox Sports what wanted he to do about the center back. Whether he would ask him to stay or open Edson the door to leave. Ten Hag bluntly talked about the plans he has with the current squad after the winter break.

And the former Pep Guardiola assistant said he still counts on Alvarez. Ten Hag said the season will become harder in the spring, with a match every three days, and everybody must be ready because there will be rotation. All the squad will be needed and given it is not easy transfer in players in winter, Alvarez will stay.

So Edson Alvarez will have to wait, at least until the summer, to start negotiations to join Valencia or some other team. But he has to hope to the back up plans that Valencia has in his position to fail, because it is said that the Spanish team is also interested in Ferro (Benfica) and Daniele Rugani (Rennes).
