Cristiano Ronaldo has completed a stunning move back to Manchester United this evening. The 36-year-old's unprecedented move from Juventus has been confirmed through the official website of Manchester United. 12 years after departing for Madrid for a then world-record deal, Ronaldo has returned to play for the Red Devils.
In what was a quick turn of events, Ronaldo made known his intention to leave Turin this morning to Massimiliano Allegri. When he turned up for training, he was seen discussing with the manager and subsequently leaving the training ground. Allegri confirmed that Ronaldo has decided against staying and thus, the 5-time Ballon d'Or winner's 2-year stint with the Bianconeri will come to an end.
It was in the rumours that Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes was offering his clients to numerous clubs this summer. Mendes is a strong powerbroker in the transfer industry, representing players such as Erling Haaland, Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The super-agent is said to charge between 10% - 25% of the transfer fee of his clients for any move.
Cristiano Ronaldo's move to Manchester United is said to have been for a price of £25m. This means that in less than 24 hours of finding a new club for Ronaldo, Jorge Mendes would have earned between £2.5m and £6.25m from the deal. Mendes has made a lot of money from Ronaldo having also engineered his move from Sporting Lisbon to Manchester United, Manchester United to Real Madrid, Real Madrid to Juventus, and Juventus to Manchester United.
