Barcelona is just a city, but it has a king: Lionel Messi. Paris now enjoys the kingdom of Kylian Mbappé and Neymar, after having hosted stars like Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani. But now they have the dream of its life: yes, Barcelona’s king. The Argentinian is expiring his contract with his lifetime club, and Paris Saint-Germain wants to get him.

Recently, after sacking coach Thomas Tuchel, Argentina’s Mauricio Pochettino was hired for the bench. 48-year-old Pochettino played his sole World Cup for his country in 2002, when he was playing in PSG. But now, he is not the only Argentinian in the club. Left-footed winger Angel Di María plays there since 2015 and was joined by centerhalf Leandro Paredes in early 2019.

Now, Paredes and Messi are undoubted part of the starting line-up in Lionel Scaloni’s squad of Argentina. Di María, having many back-and-forths with his country's media and fans, is still fighting for survival in the team. But 26-year-old Paredes was tipped as the key to bring Barcelona’s ace to Paris.

Regarding that, he spoke to local newspaper Le Parisien, giving his thoughts on a possible arrival of his countryman to the club. He stated: “I would definitely love to have him in the team. All of us would do. But it’s all up to him and his decision. I hope so, the club is already trying to convince him”. It seems money will not be a problem.
